No!! This is exactly the problem! Our planet won't support us for much longer to lets go find another one!! This is very interesting, no doubt, but troubling all together. It will be interesting to read the data on this planet once the technology catches up.
I think this new planet is safe from the nasty homo sapiens infection. We will be extinct or will have exhausted jet propulsion raw materials long before we figure out a way to travel 20 light years distant.
I like the idea of homosapiens as an infection. Unfortunately we're gearing up to begin making other planets ill. This cartoon illustrates that beautifully.
